Lighthouse Gift Guide

Lighthouse Gift Guide - Lighthouse

’Tis yet again the season for filling the advent calendar, stringing up the lights, and decking the halls with boughs of holly. Christmas cheer blares from radio stations to high street speakers, and no one can believe it’s this time of year again.

So often, the Christmas period comes around so quickly that we’re left in a bit of a panic when it comes to buying presents for our nearest and dearest (or that cousin you only see once a year).

To help you out, we’ve put together a simple gift guide. We’re offering up inspiration for easy DIYs, kitting out the whole family, and thoughtful alternatives to the norm.

Check it out below!

  • Pyjamas

  • If there’s ever a time for a pair of cosy new pyjamas, it’s Christmas. We find it hard to believe that anyone is ever disappointed when they unwrap a fresh new pair on Christmas day.

You can find some lovely, budget friendly options from F&F at Tesco in both festive prints and those more suited for all year round. Take a look at their selection on instagram: @F&FClothing.

Alternatively, kit a whole family out in matching festive pjs from Next. We love this slightly kitsch penguin print.

  • Truffles

  • By the time Christmas Day rolls around the boxes of classic holiday chocolates have been well and truly cracked open and picked through by the whole family.

Why not treat someone to a box of chocolates just for them?

A box of luxury truffles is a simple gift idea that feels more decadent and expensive than it necessarily has to be.

We recommend the huge M&S selection. For instance, these champagne truffles from the Marks and Spencer Collection. They even come packaged in a decorative gift box that the recipient can keep and reuse.

For a more high end buy, Hotel Chocolate offer a mix and match option on truffles, and also stock preprepared boxes in a range of sizes.

Share a little luxury this Christmas!

  • Lighthouse Lounge Wear

  • For those who might like to get active over the festive season, Lighthouse suggests leisurewear.

This season we have a range of items for the adventurous boy, and all the way to the hard-to-buy-for Dad.

For him, you can’t go wrong with a classic polo. Pier comes in a range of colours and will see the wearer through from season to season. Shop a Seafarer sweatshirt for the man who prioritises comfort.

Fleeces are a great buy for both boys and girls. They’re practical, cosy, and Lighthouse offers fun colours and textures that kids are sure to love. The Ted fleece for boys is fluffy and bold, and the Gracie fleece for girls could easily be seen replicated in the teddy coat style for adults this season.

Lighthouse also offers a wide range of womenswear which you can shop here.

  • A Festive Wreath

  • For friends who love their home we recommend purchasing a festive door wreath - the Christmas equivalent to a posy of flowers, but with a more unique touch!

Buying a wreath from your local garden centre or florist is a great way to support independent businesses, and what’s more, you can ask them to customise the wreath any way you want.

Some people like a more traditional wreath with features like pine cones and cloves, others might prefer more simple styles that focus on foliage - a festive wreath is a lovely way to show your friend how well you know them.

(You might want to give them this one a little earlier than the twenty-fifth!)

  • A Hamper of Local Produce

  • Following the idea of the festive wreath, why not box up some family friendly local food items to give to your loved ones this Christmas?

All you need is a small cardboard box or basket and some filler (like tissue paper or shredded paper), then just fill the box up with delicious local produce (we suggest olive oils, flavoured teas, and fudge). Tie a big bow around the box and you’re good to go!

Alternatively, you could bake some goodies yourself, wrap them up, and place them into the box (with an ‘eat me’ tag of course!). We also suggest adding a couple of luxury bath and body items to a decorative box, or putting together a ‘cosy night in’ kit with hot chocolate, a book, and a candle.

This gift is a simple, super thoughtful way to DIY a gift and tailor its contents to the personal preferences or needs of your loved one.

  • Hannah Hat

  • For teens who seem to have it all, or women who love their walks, we suggest our Hannah Hat.

It’s pretty, cosy, and practical - a lovely Winter warmer.

Whether it’s a stocking filler or gift for the under the tree, the Hannah Hat is a great choice to see your loved one cosily through the festive period. It comes in a range of colours, with or without bobbles.

Ideal for blowing off the cobwebs on that Boxing Day dander.

There we have it, six easy gifts you can pick up for your loved ones this Christmas!
